A story about #gaming. The year was 1998. by Andreas Blom

Online gaming was just ridding itself of diapers.  A scant few massively multiplayer games existed (Lineage for one, it was released that year). Quake 2 was the game to play, having been released the year before. A childhood friend of mine, (Asmodai by name) invited me to play a new mod for Quake 2. The mod was called Loki's Minions Capture the Flag - #LMCTF , the first Capture the Flag modification for Quake 2, released the day after the Quake 2 source code was released.

The Bates Motel: The DISTRUCTION III Freakshow 2nd/3rd Oct. 1999

'Quaddicted' sein koenntest? Gibt's ruhig zu!!!!! Ich denke, dass eine Problemseite wie diese wirklich weiterhelfen wuerde! Vielleicht gibts ja auch einen Verein oder sowas. Ich denke das Ihr sonst in 2-3 Jahren alle dort sitzen und zittern werdet und Euch ueber die Zeit unterhalten werden, wo wir noch "drauf "wahren!!! - Unsicher? - Verwirrt? - Durcheinander? - yu lange RailOnlz geyockt? - keine Panik!

Multiplayer United: Photos from MPU LANs, Sydney, Australia

Multiplayer United (MPU) is a Local Area Network (LAN) gaming group located in the Sydney Australia area. Typically MPU runs from 11:00am until 11:00pm on a monthly basis. For details of the next MPU event check the next event page. Currently any number of the latest games are supported on a fast 10/100 m/s network. The benefit of network gaming is that you can play against your friends, enemies and total strangers alike, in a friendly, fast and exciting environment. You can meet your online pals and discuss strategies or just go hard and game for the whole 12 hours ignoring all. The atmosphere we strive for at MPU is one of friendliness with a touch of competitiveness.

OZQuake: The Gallery of Australian Quake Art

Welcome to the gallery, ozquakes spot for the budding creative artist beneath the destructive quaker. If you feel that your creative genius is unappreciated in your own cirlce, send it in and perhaps we'll post it. Sting's Gallery contains scanned images from his own hand crafted sketches inspired from his quake and heavy metal interests and influences. His works are incredibly detailed and designed, intricate works that display a true talent. Goose's Gallery illustrates the electronic generation of creativity. I look forward to more of his works that take the medium and employ it in creative ways that are just inspired. ozquake Background Gallery is a collection of desktop backgrounds submitted by visitors. If you create a quake related background why not send it on in?

OZQuake: Fraggin Australian Style…

The community is still strong in Australia. There are still some great servers around the country, including our own (202.139.41.242:27951), that have regular groups of players who hang out and have a frag or two. Instagib seems to be the mod of the moment, a server side mod (no download needed, you just connect and play) with our own server, Alphalink (203.24.205.19:27911), Wireplay (202.12.147.16:27999) and EISA (203.166.224.41:27930) being the pick of the pack. GX is still going strong, something about the skill and discipline of the game keeps people keen, and Alphalink (203.24.205.19:27950) is without doubt the bees knees for game-play. Quake II LIVES!!
