Quakeweek: the Original Fake News Site for the Quake Community

"Pauly Shore joins id. John Carmack announced yesterday its decision to hire the talentless actor to serve as comic relief during the hectic development process of Quake 2. 'So far,' said Carmack, 'Pauly has contributed some pretty good ideas. For instance, since Quake 2 will have absolutely nothing to do with Quake, he suggested changing the name to Pauly: The Game... He even gave us a new idea for a weapon, the weasel gun.' 'Check it, bro!' remarked Shore. 'In Quake, there's, like, Pauly-gons!'"

Australian Quake Clan: Bananas in Pyjamas

"A3 - Armegeddon 3 - Brissi Convention Center. Here are some photo's so you can put some faces to the people who have been slaughtering you over the past year. My GF's camera was FUBARED, and my photo's of [HF] & [BW] stuffed up :( A 36 roll and I end up half a dozen photos.... Heres what we salvaged..... Bro, came 1st and Trog 2nd. Seven and blade missed they're finals hopes by a single frag... doh! Zhakrin[B2] (yes I can spell it) came in the Top 16. And I, well...... took alot of photos :). Why hold it at such an expensive location and make us poor quakers shell out for it, instead of a couple big sponsors (or cheaper location) is beyond me. First prize was 3dfx Monster Card, and Sidewinder joystick but we're in it for the fun and the glory not for the prize-money...."

The Coven: Disposable Heroes, Deadlode 2, and more Quake II Total Conversion Mods

Originally founded by John "Gestalt" Bye in late 1996, The Coven worked on a free Doom II add-on before moving on to Quake and going commercial in the summer of 1997. The Coven was closed in the winter of 1999, and all their work is now available for free.
