Who am I? I’m Hellchick.
Who am I? I’m Hellchick.
Okay, that doesn’t work when you’re not Spiderman, does it?
A long time ago, I was a student at the University of Wyoming studying astronomy and astrophysics. I was going to be a scientist. I was going to delve into the mysteries and enigmas of the universe. I was going to do great things.
Then I found Quake.
I played online every waking moment, using the nickname “Hellchick” because I couldn’t think of anything better. Had I known that would replace my real name, I’d have taken the time to come up with something a little more timeless.
I loved video games so much that I switched gears and went to work for GameSpy, running the flagship site PlanetQuake and then moving up to managing the entire action genre of the network. I had developed a good relationship with id Software, and after about two years at GameSpy I went to work for Activision, publisher of many of id’s games, where I now work online marketing, PR, and some studio stuff in the hardcore brand area.
I have a lot of personal hobbies, the biggest of which is knitting. When I’m not knitting I’m playing my bass. When I’m not doing either of those things, I might be tatting, quilting, writing, programming, web designing, mod creating, or baking.
This site is nothing more than my little address on the web. It’s a place for friends and family to catch up on what’s going on, and a few things about some of the stuff I do in my spare time. Enjoy!
